PRP is pleased to kick off the inaugural New Business Grant program for downtown Princeton! In early 2017, four winners will be selected through a competitive process to receive $3,000 to go towards rent of a storefront on Mercer Street, a free membership to the Princeton-Mercer County Chamber of Commerce, and a variety of other perks and incentives including waived B&O taxes for the 1st year of business. Eligible businesses must be new to downtown Princeton (not open before March of 2016), must commit to a location on Mercer Street and sign a one year lease before receiving the funds. A list of available properties and details about these locations will be available soon. A complete business plan is required along with this application, and coaches from the Small Business Development Center will be available to guide you through that process. Applications will be accepted beginning December 1 until February 1. Eight finalists will be selected to compete in a grand finale pitch contest in early March. Finalists must prepare a five minute pitch presentation for an audience and adjudication committee, and four winners will be selected that night. Winners will choose from eight available locations in downtown Princeton to locate their business as soon as April 1.
